The Armed Forces of Ukraine are preventing Russian troops from strengthening in the city of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk region, the monitoring project DeepState reported, quoted by FOCUS.

According to the report, small groups of infantry are under constant pressure, the Russians are penetrating the city and trying to strengthen themselves.

"The enemy is approaching the Kurakhovo TPP and is not the first time it has been registered there, but the Russians have not yet managed to gain a foothold due to the intensive successful work of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' drones“, DeepState points out.

According to the project, the most difficult situation is currently in the city district of Yuzhny, where fighting continues for every house and every street.

"In general, the Russians are swarming into the city, but their losses are corresponding, which has an impact and he is forced to send his forces to regroup and constantly engage reserves", the publication states.

"Fighting continues on the western and southern outskirts, although the prospects, of course, are disappointing", DeepState noted.

Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russia had captured Kurakhovo in the Donetsk region. Military expert Pavlo Narozhny stated that the city is threatened with occupation, but it is too early to talk about its fall.

"What is the problem with Kurakhovo? "The problem is that north of the city there is a dam where the enemy destroyed the dam wall, and further north of this dam the Russians pushed our units out. And south of Kurakhovo they also outflanked (our troops)," he explained on Radio NV.

The only road intended for supplying Kurakhovo is located in the south. The Russians are approaching very close to this road - it is a matter of several kilometers. the analyst pointed out.
