The alleged perpetrator of the attack with a pickup truck in New Orleans, which killed at least ten people and injured 35, is Shamsuddin Jabbar, a 42-year-old American citizen, the FBI announced in a statement quoted by world agencies, BTA reported.
"The subject has been identified as Shamsuddin Jabbar, a 42-year-old American citizen from Texas“, the US federal police announced, quoted by Agence France-Presse. "He was driving a “Ford“ pickup truck, which was apparently rented" and was shot after a shootout with police.
"An "Islamic State" flag was found in the vehicle and the FBI is working to establish the individual's potential connections and contacts with terrorist organizations," the statement said.

Earlier, US President-elect Donald Trump said that the attacker may have been an immigrant, DPA recalls.
