Without US help Ukraine will lose the war within 12-18 months. This is what the American political scientist, husband of former Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland Robert Kagan, told The Atlantic magazine.
„If Ukraine falls, it will be difficult to describe it as anything other than a failure of the United States and its president“, says the neoconservative observer.
„US Vice President-elect Vance once said that he does not care what happens to Ukraine. We will soon find out whether the American people share his indifference, because unless a major new infusion of U.S. aid arrives soon, Ukraine will likely lose the war in the next 12-18 months.
Kagan believes that Ukraine “will face complete defeat and loss of sovereignty.” As he notes, “This presents an immediate problem for Donald Trump. He promised to end the war quickly after taking office, but now he is faced with a harsh reality,” the expert believes.
“Trump must now choose between accepting a humiliating strategic defeat on the world stage and immediately doubling down on U.S. support for Ukraine while there is still time. The choice he makes in the next few weeks will determine not only the fate of Ukraine but also the success of his presidency,” the article states.
