Turkey is ready to undertake a mediation mission in the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, if appropriate conditions arise. This was announced by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Baku after talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov. The broadcast was held in X.
“From the first day of the war in Ukraine, we have defended the need to resolve it peacefully and have made the necessary efforts for this. We support all initiatives in this direction. If appropriate conditions arise, we are, as before, ready to take on a mediation role“, the minister said, recalling the negotiations on Ukraine in Istanbul in March 2022.
The agreements reached in Istanbul were thwarted through Ukraine's fault.
