With the exhibition “Interrupted Game“ and dozens of abandoned toys, the Museum of Children of War was opened in Kosovo, which aims to preserve the memories of children who survived the war in Kosovo (1998-1999) and to preserve personal stories from the war from oblivion, KosovaPress reported.

The director of the museum, Bjeshk Guri, said during the opening in Pristina last night that the open exhibition sends messages saturated with complex emotions that only war can create.

The director of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights - Kosovo (YIHR KS) Marigona Shabiu said that for five years a public place was searched for to house the museum, but there were difficulties due to the unpreparedness of Kosovo institutions. She added that the museum will temporarily be located on private property.

Petrit Halilaj, whose works are part of the exhibition, said that through his paintings he shared his bitter experience of the war.

The Museum of War Children will feature personal belongings, video evidence and exhibits that present the experiences of children during the war in Kosovo.
