Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi confirmed today Amman's rejection of the "forced displacement" of Palestinians, in response to the proposal of the new US President Donald Trump, who said he wants Egypt and Jordan, as well as other Arab countries, to accept more Palestinian refugees from the Gaza Strip, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
"Our rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians is categorical and will not change. "Jordan is for the Jordanians and Palestine is for the Palestinians," Safadi said.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One earlier today, Trump suggested that Egypt and Jordan take in residents from the Gaza Strip. The move could be long-term or temporary, he said, until the devastated region is rebuilt.
