Japan and the United States are in the final stages of planning a meeting between Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and President Donald Trump. It is expected to take place on February 7 in Washington, Reuters reports, quoted by News.bg.

Ishiba and Trump will discuss strengthening the partnership in the areas of security and economy. The Japanese prime minister is seeking to build a personal relationship with the US president and deepen the alliance between the two countries.
Coordination of the meeting
According to a spokesman for the Japanese Foreign Ministry, final agreements for the meeting have not yet been reached, and the schedule is still being coordinated.
Economic and defense issues
The topics of conversation will include the creation of jobs in the US by Japanese companies, as well as increasing Japan's defense budget.
