Ukraine expects to receive the next batch of F-16 aircraft in 2025. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov after a meeting in The Hague with the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands Ruben Brekelmans, UNIAN reports.
"The Netherlands is among the leaders in supporting Ukraine, and in 2024 its assistance increased significantly. We already have agreements for 2025. The main priority is the F-16 program. We expect the next batch of aircraft to be delivered in 2025. and we continue to train pilots, engineers and technicians", commented the Ukrainian minister.
According to him, the Netherlands plays a key role in the Coalition of Air Forces, supporting the development of Ukraine's aviation infrastructure and capabilities.
"The second priority is unmanned aerial vehicles. We coordinated the distribution of the previously announced 400 million euros, as well as the preparation of large-scale joint projects for long-range flight capabilities. Artillery ammunition, air defense systems and interceptor missiles are also on the agenda", Umerov said.
He added that the Netherlands clearly understands Ukraine's needs and is ready to help. The next logical step, he says, is to develop joint defense enterprises that will enhance the capabilities of both armies:
"We have synchronized plans for receiving assistance, its effective use on the battlefield, and support for operations. It is important to act quickly and efficiently together with our partners.“
