Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia is ready to talk with the US about the peace initiative agreed upon by the US and Ukraine and that the contacts are expected to take place today, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
After talks with senior US diplomats in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Ukraine said it was ready to accept a 30-day ceasefire and that the US had said it would pass on the proposal to Moscow.
„We are ready to discuss the initiatives outlined there in future contacts with the US. "It is possible that these contacts will take place today," Zakharova said.
Earlier, the Kremlin reported that American negotiators were flying to Russia and that Kremlin foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov and White House national security adviser Mike Walz spoke by phone yesterday.
