At least seven people were killed in a Russian drone attack on Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian authorities said, as quoted by the Associated Press.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 147 drones into Ukraine overnight. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 97, while 25 missed their targets. The attacks hit Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odessa and Donetsk regions, as well as the capital Kiev.
Three people were killed and 10 were injured in Kiev.
According to the head of the Kiev city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, two apartment buildings in the Dnipro district of Kiev caught fire due to debris from a drone. The fire broke out on the top floors of an apartment building, killing one woman, the Ukrainian emergency services said.
Four people have died in the Donetsk region.
A few days ago, Russia announced the team that will participate in the talks with the United States in Saudi Arabia on Monday. A possible ceasefire agreement in the Black Sea will be discussed, DPA reported.
The Russian negotiating team will be led by diplomat Grigory Karasin and Sergei Beseda, a politician and government plenipotentiary, the Kremlin said. The talks in Riyadh, which were initially expected to take place on Sunday, will focus on the US proposal on ways to ensure safe shipping in the Black Sea by implementing a limited ceasefire.
