Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday that despite the agreement reached through the United States for a ceasefire in the Black Sea and a cessation of attacks on energy facilities, Russia is already engaged in manipulation, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
"Unfortunately, even now, even today, on the very day of the negotiations, we see how the Russians have already started manipulating", Zelensky said in his evening video address to the nation. "They are already trying to distort the agreements and, in fact, deceive both our mediators and the whole world," he added.
Zelensky said that the Kremlin is lying when it says that the agreements on shipping in the Black Sea are related to the sanctions regime imposed on Moscow.
Ukraine will do everything possible to implement the agreements, but Russia must understand that if it starts strikes, he said. "They will get a strong response," the Ukrainian head of state announced.
US President Donald Trump said that great progress has been made in talks between the United States, Ukraine and Russia on the issue of the war in Ukraine, Reuters reported.
"We are in deep negotiations with both sides and things are going well," he told media representatives. The US president noted that Russia and Ukraine will observe the ceasefire by water together. He added that significant progress has also been made regarding the situation in the Middle East.
