Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Vladimir Putin “will die soon” amid rumors that the Russian leader is in poor health, the “Daily Mail“ reported.
Zelensky's assessment of Putin's health came during an interview with journalists in Paris after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday. The Ukrainian leader said: “He (Putin) will die soon and that's a fact... and the end will come”.
Despite his attempts to project an image of invulnerability, Putin has long been rumored to be suffering from health problems. According to some sources close to the Kremlin, Putin is suffering from cancer.
During last night's interview, Zelensky also said that Putin is trying to “strike the European Union from within“ through the more Russia-friendly members of the bloc such as Hungary.
For over three years now, Vladimir Putin's army has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine. During these three years, Moscow has dared to threaten NATO countries with war on several occasions.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned yesterday during a visit to Warsaw at a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk that the response to “an attack on Poland or any other ally“ would be devastating.
“However, if anyone makes the mistake of thinking they can escape responsibility for an attack on Poland or any other ally, they will face the full force of this unyielding alliance. Our response will be devastating“, he said, mentioning Russian President Vladimir Putin by name.
