United States President Donald Trump has criticized Russia's latest airstrikes on Kiev, calling them "unnecessary" and "very bad timing".
On his social network Truth Social, he called on his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to stop the attacks and finalize a peace deal, warning that "5,000 soldiers are dying every week".
"I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KIEV... Vladimir, STOP! 5,000 soldiers are dying every week. "Let's make a peace deal!" Trump urged, underlining the urgency of ending the conflict as casualties mount.
He made his comments amid renewed international alarm over Russia's military actions, which have continued despite peace talks.
The European Union, Britain and France also condemned the strikes, pointing to a growing gap between Moscow's stated interest in peace and its ongoing attacks on Ukrainian cities.
