Russia continues to create a security zone in the border areas of Ukraine's Sumy region, after expelling Ukrainian troops from Russia's Kursk region, the Russian Defense Ministry said today, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.
In March, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia should strive to create a buffer zone in Sumy region.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced today that Russian troops have captured four settlements in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions in the past week.
US Vice President J.D. Vance said earlier that the war in Ukraine will not end soon, Reuters reported.
„Now everything will depend on the Russians and "The Ukrainians now that each side knows what the other side's terms of peace are. It's up to them to come to an agreement and stop this brutal, brutal conflict," Vance said in an interview with "Fox News." He then predicted that this war will not end anytime soon.
The vice president also said that India's response to the attack in Kashmir must be done in a way that does not lead to a wider regional conflict.
He added that the United States hopes that Pakistan will cooperate with India against Pakistani-based terrorists so that they can be pursued and dealt with.
