Greece is not considering providing a Patriot air defense system to Ukraine. This was stated by a government representative to Reuters in a comment on information according to which Ukraine's Western allies are holding talks with Greece and the United States on this issue, BTA reported.
Ukraine's Western allies are discussing options for supplying additional Patriot air defense systems to Kiev and are seeking to reach an agreement before the NATO summit in late June, a source familiar with the matter said earlier, Reuters reported. According to the source, the United States and Greece are among the potential suppliers of such systems.
Ukraine is increasingly desperate to acquire more Patriots, with President Volodymyr Zelensky telling "CBS News" last month that his government was prepared to purchase 10 of the U.S.-made air defense systems that are vital to shooting down Russian ballistic missiles.
