Top secret! Germany hides data on arms deliveries to the Ukrainian army, including Taurus missiles

After more than three years of full-scale war and "broad transparency", the new German government has decided to keep arms deliveries to Ukraine secret. In the future, the federal government will significantly reduce the volume of information on arms deliveries, writes Spiegel, citing sources in government circles.

It is reported that such a step is primarily aimed at "not giving Russia a military advantage". Reducing public discussion of arms deliveries is considered part of "military tactics".

On February 27, 2022 - three days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine - former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz decided to supply weapons to Ukraine. For about four months, there were almost no reports of such supplies.

In June 2022, after public pressure, the government decided to publish a detailed list of all weapons supplies. To this day, the German federal government website lists all weapons supplies with data on quantities. For example, it states that Germany supplied 25 PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, 121 Leopard tanks, 1,050 combat drones and 478,000 artillery shells.

In this way, Scholz's government is trying to prove that Germany is the largest supplier of weapons to Ukraine after the United States. The list was last updated on May 6 - the day the new government was appointed.
