NATO is determined to remain a beacon of freedom, democracy and the rule of law. Peace and stability are not guaranteed and the price of maintaining them is high, but it is incomparable to the price of war, he added. Admiral Dragone noted that at the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague in a month, the alliance will have to discuss the main issues - improving deterrence and defense capabilities, assessing possible threats, maintaining support for Ukraine so that the country can negotiate from a position of strength.
This requires resources, the admiral noted. We need to invest, not just spend more. We encourage everyone to make additional efforts to be prepared for the future. A true soldier does not love war, but loves peace so much that he is ready to fight for it, Admiral Dragone summarized.
