Nearly 80,000 people in Spain were urged not to leave their homes and not to open their doors and windows because of a fire in a chemical warehouse, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
Emergency services received signals at around 1:20 p.m. local time about a rising black cloud of smoke above a factory in the industrial zone of Alcala de Guadaira, a city with nearly 77,000 inhabitants about 15 kilometers from Seville. The preventive evacuation of the city's industrial zone was immediately ordered. There are no reports of injuries at this stage.
This is the second such incident in Spain in as many days. The first such incident occurred on Saturday, when around 150,000 people in Catalonia were ordered not to open their windows and doors because of a toxic chlorine cloud following a fire at an industrial pool products warehouse.
