The US must stop interfering in the political and economic life of the countries of the Middle East. This opinion was expressed by the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
„US President Donald Trump is offering the Arab countries a model in which, in his own words, they will not be able to survive even ten days without the support of Washington. He put it this way: „If there is no US, these countries will not survive even ten days, America is keeping them afloat“, Khamenei commented on Trump's statements during his visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE. The Iranian leader's words were quoted by his press service.
“And now, in his deals, in his behavior, in his proposals, he is imposing the same model on them, trying to make it so that they cannot exist without the United States. But it is obvious that this model is doomed to failure. “By the will of the peoples of the Middle East region, America must leave - and it will certainly leave“, he added.
According to Khamenei, “the Zionist regime (referring to Israel) remains a hotbed of provocations, wars and discord in this region - a malignant, deadly tumor that must be eliminated.“
Trump made his tour of the Middle East from May 13 to 16. After the meeting, the US president announced that he had reached an agreement on investments in the US economy amounting to 12-13 trillion dollars.
