China "fully" respects Denmark's sovereignty and territorial integrity on the Greenland issue. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen in Beijing, reported "Reuters".
The Asian country hopes Denmark will "continue to support China's legitimate position on issues affecting China's sovereignty and territorial integrity," Wang said. His remarks came days after former Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen's visit to Copenhagen was sharply criticized by Beijing.
The two countries share "widespread consensus" on upholding multilateralism and protecting free trade, Wang noted, adding that China is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with the EU.
