According to him, it is not yet possible to predict how the peace talks on Ukraine will end, but it is important that after the war the Russian president does not try anything like this again.
Improving our defense capabilities is our main mission, Rutte pointed out. Allies must increase defense spending, this is a key task before the alliance summit in The Hague next month, he added. The burden sharing must be fairer, we need to do much more in the run-up to the upcoming summit, to invest in new technologies, in strong and faster transatlantic defense production, the secretary general noted.
