The United States has received a list of conditions from Kiev to end the war and is now expecting a similar list from Russia. This was stated by the US President's special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg for Fox News.
According to Kellogg, when US President Donald Trump recently spoke with Vladimir Putin, "the Russians said they would prepare a so-called memorandum".
"We have received a list of conditions for a peace agreement from Kiev and we need to receive them from Moscow as well", the diplomat said.
He noted that once the US receives both documents, they will "merge".
"Then you take both documents and combine them. You put them together. And you ask the question: Where can we find common ground to bring everything together? And when we get their "emergency plan" or memorandum, then we will prepare a joint version and another meeting will be held", Kellogg explained.
Trump's special representative noted that the United States wanted the next round of talks between Ukraine and Russia to be held in the Vatican, but "Moscow rejected it".
We recall that on May 16, trilateral talks were held in Istanbul between delegations of Ukraine, the United States and Turkey. On the same day, a meeting of delegations of Ukraine and Russia was held with the participation of Turkey, which were the first direct negotiations between Kiev and Moscow since 2022.
A day earlier, Foreign Minister Andriy Szybiga said that Ukraine still considers the Vatican a platform for negotiations with Russia, but Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected the proposal, saying that holding negotiations in the Vatican was "inelegant".
