Ten people were injured when a large tree fell in Venice, ANSA, "Stampa", "Venice Today", "Sky TG24", "Corriere della Sera" and others reported. One of the injured is in serious condition, BTA reported.
The tragedy took place near the "Piazzale Roma" square in the City of Canals. Buses and trams to mainland Italy depart from there and the area is usually full of Venetians and tourists. There are also several multi-storey car parks in the area. There is no land transport in Venice after this area.
Emergency services and local authorities have arrived at the site of the fallen tree.
