US President Donald Trump told "NBC News" that Tehran missed the opportunity to make a deal with the United States on its nuclear program, but now it has another chance to do so, BTA reports.
"They missed the opportunity to make a deal. Now they might have another chance. We'll see," Trump said.
The US president also added that Iranian officials were already calling him to tell him they still wanted to reach an agreement.
In a telephone interview with Reuters, he also said he did not know whether Iran still had a nuclear program after the Israeli strikes on the country this morning, but specified that planned talks with Tehran representatives in Oman on Sunday had not yet been canceled.
Trump said he was not worried about a regional war breaking out as a result of the Israeli strikes.
Earlier, the US president told the "Wall Street Journal" that he and his team had been informed in advance of Israel's plans to attack Iran.
Asked in a telephone interview what advance information Washington had received before the attack, Trump replied: "Advance information? It was not advance information. That was it – we knew what was coming".
Trump spoke with Netanyahu yesterday and plans to speak with him again, the publication writes.
The American president described the strikes to the "Wall Street Journal" as "a very successful attack, to put it mildly".
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed that the United States was notified in advance of the attacks on Iran.
