Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Iran will strike back. "This will happen," he said in an address to the nation tonight, the Israeli news agency TPS reported, quoted by BTA.
„I expect an attack on us. "It is possible that these will be severe attacks in waves," Netanyahu added.
He assured that Israel is working to reduce the price the country will have to pay and warned citizens to follow the instructions of the authorities.
Netanyahu described the initial strikes against Iran as "very successful", adding that a significant part of the senior command of the Iranian army, as well as leading nuclear scientists, were eliminated, along with the uranium enrichment plant in Natanz.
The prime minister praised the IDF for its "incredible work" and Mossad for removing any doubts about Israel's capabilities.
Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog also made a statement in support of Operation Rising Lion, aimed at Iran's nuclear capabilities.
“Freedom is not preserved with words alone - it requires courage, vigilance and the determination to act when necessary. Every delay in the Iranian nuclear threat, every intercepted missile, every neutralized drone - all contribute to the protection and preservation of innocent lives - not only in Israel, but throughout the region and beyond,” he said.
“We are deeply grateful to the brave Israeli servicemen - men and women - who shoulder this burden with courage and determination. For decades, the Iranian regime has worked to spread terror, destabilize the region, and attack Jewish communities and other nations, while actively threatening the very existence of the Jewish state – both in word and deed. Its empire of evil proxies, which carried out the massacre of October 7, still holds 53 innocent hostages in Gaza in atrocious conditions. We demand their immediate release,” President Herzog added.
