Ending the war in the Gaza Strip is a "top priority" for US President Donald Trump, the White House said today, quoted by Agence France-Presse, a few hours before Trump's meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, BTA reports.
"The president's top priority for the Middle East is to end the war in Gaza and return all hostages," White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said at a press conference.
US special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff is due to leave later this week for Qatar, where indirect talks between Israel and the Palestinian movement "Hamas" are taking place, she added.
