Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the adoption of the 18th package of EU sanctions against Russia, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reported.
The Ukrainian leader said that this was a "key decision taken at the right time".
"This decision is key and was taken at the right time – now, when Russia is increasing the brutality of its attacks on our cities and villages," Zelensky stressed on the "Ex" social network.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko said that the new package of sanctions will increase pressure on Russia.
At the same time, Sviridenko noted that many more measures can be taken to achieve peace. France also welcomed the new sanctions.
"Together with the United States, we will force Vladimir Putin to cease fire" in Ukraine, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told "Ex".
The European Union has adopted an eighteenth package of sanctions against Russia over its war in Ukraine, Reuters reported.
The package includes measures aimed at further hitting Russia's oil and energy industries. It is planned to lower the ceiling adopted by the G-7 for the purchase of Russian crude oil to $47.6 per barrel, diplomats told Reuters.
