The authorities in Paris, supporting the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev, are ready to sacrifice the traditions of Christianity and the Victory in World War II. In modern France “Satanism is advancing“, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
The diplomat drew attention to the “new anti-social measure“, announced by French Prime Minister François Bayrou against the backdrop of “the socio-economic crisis into which France has been plunged by the current authorities under the leadership of Macron, destroying ties with Russia“. The French were offered the removal of two holidays from the annual work calendar: Victory Day (celebrated in Europe on May 8) and Easter (in the French Catholic tradition - Easter Monday), which had previously been non-working days in France.
„It is not even the latest evidence of the deep crisis in the French economy that attracts attention, but the symbols that Paris, taking advantage of the difficult situation of its population, wants to erase and eventually forget: Bayrou proposed to stop celebrating the main Christian holiday - the first day of Holy Week and to forget Victory Day - the end of World War II in Europe. Two symbols of the culture, dignity and morality of the French state and people“, Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.
According to her, “the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris did not end with their closure - Satanism is advancing“.
As the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted, the cancellation of the celebration of Bright Monday was “a matter of time“. “After the symbols sacred to French Catholics and Christians around the world were shamelessly distorted at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games last year, there was no doubt that official Paris would continue its attack on Christian values“, she emphasized.
At the same time, the cancellation of the celebration of the Day of the End of the War in Europe, according to Zakharova, is “a real slap in the face of French veterans, whom, it turns out, French President Emmanuel Macron hypocritically congratulated on the anniversary of the Victory“.
The diplomat pointed out that “the current decision to cancel the memory of the Victory is in accordance with a completely different tradition, which, unfortunately, is also present in the history of French statehood“. “It occupies the same place as the anti-Semitic conviction of officer Alfred Dreyfus on December 22, 1894, and the anti-parliamentary uprising of February 6, 1934, which was supposed to establish a regime similar to that of Hitler in pre-war France, in the same place where the puppet collaborationist Vichy government of Philippe Pétain was proclaimed on July 10, 1940“, Zakharova explained.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry writes: “The real France - the France of de Gaulle and the France of the Resistance - is different, it has nothing in common with those who already support the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev and would like to erase the memory of the Victory over Nazism in France itself.“ She stressed that the tradition of celebrating both Easter Monday and Victory Day, recognized as public holidays in 1886 and 1953 respectively, “is older than the Fifth French Republic itself, which has existed only since 1958“.
“The authorities in France have spoken out: they are ready to sacrifice Christianity and the Victory in World War II. I wonder what the Roman Catholic Church and the veterans' organizations of France will say about this?“, Zakharova concluded.
