Clashes between Thai and Cambodian troops erupted along the border between the two countries for a second consecutive day this morning, the Thai army reported, quoted by Reuters and BTA.
“Cambodian forces carried out prolonged shelling with heavy weapons, field artillery and BM-21 rocket systems“, a statement said. “Thai forces responded with return fire in accordance with the tactical situation“, the text adds.
Regional authorities in Cambodia reported today that 1 civilian was killed, five were injured and 1,500 families were evacuated from the conflict zone.
