The Israeli Navy has stopped the ship "Handala" of the pro-Palestinian movement "Freedom Flotilla", loaded with humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip, reported on its website "Times of Israel", quoted by BTA.
A live video broadcast of the operation shows that Israeli marines board the ship, after which the broadcast stops.
The ship will be towed to the Israeli port of Ashdod, after which the activists on board will be deported, the publication reports.
According to "Freedom Flotilla" on board „Handala“ has 19 activists, as well as two journalists from „Al Jazeera“.
Agence France-Presse specified that among the „Handala“ activists are two deputies from the French radical left party „France Insubordinate“ - Gabriel Catala and Emma Foureau.
Despite the Israeli naval blockade of the Gaza Strip, the „Handala” ship managed to get closer to the Gaza coast than the previous ship of the „Freedom Flotilla“ - „Madeleine”, which was stopped by Israel in June.
