The German armed forces are preparing to develop long-range strike drones capable of striking targets deep inside enemy territory, Reuters reported, citing the German newspaper "Handelsblatt", BTA reported.
Three companies are working on the project, with the German armed forces (Luftwaffe) having sent a request for drones to strike deep inside enemy territory to leading arms companies, the article says.
According to the publication, "Airbus Defense" will work on the development in collaboration with the American startup "Kratos", and the German company "Rheinmetall" will partner with "Anduril".
The German Ministry of Defense confirmed the preparation of the project to "Handelsblatt", stating that initial negotiations on the subject have already taken place, but no official procedure has begun.
