Data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) show that two earthquakes were recorded in the Red Sea region within an hour, Focus reports.
The first earthquake occurred at around 8:32 a.m. local time with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale. The second tremor was recorded at 9:02 a.m. with a slightly higher magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter scale.
Both earthquakes have almost identical locations, 156 km west of the city of Jizan in Saudi Arabia and about 107 km west of the Farasan archipelago.
