Representatives of the United States and Britain held a secret meeting in an Alpine resort, where they discussed the future of the Ukrainian leadership. According to a press release from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), quoted by TASS, an informal agreement was reached at the meeting to replace President Volodymyr Zelensky, Focus reports.
“The agreement reached in the Alps sheds light on the Ukrainian president's recent attempt to limit the powers of anti-corruption bodies“, the SVR statement said.
According to the Russian side, the head of the presidential administration Andriy Yermak convinced Zelensky to get rid of General Valery Zaluzhny, assuring him that this would not harm relations with The West. However, according to the SVR, this was used by Western powers as an excuse for a planned change of power in Kiev.
The SVR claims that the US and Britain have already agreed to propose Valery Zaluzhny as the future president of Ukraine. The meeting was held with complete unanimity that Zelensky should be replaced in order to “restart“ relations between Kiev and its Western allies and to continue military assistance to Ukraine.
“The Americans and the British announced their decision to support Zaluzhny. Ermak and the head of military intelligence Kirill Budanov accepted this, having received assurances that they would maintain their positions in the new configuration,“ the statement said.
Russian intelligence added that the decision to replace Zelensky was set as a basic condition for restoring trust between Kiev and its Western partners. In conclusion, the SVR rhetorical question to Ukrainian citizens:
„The elections for the new president of your country were held in an alpine resort. Is this how you imagined the triumph of Ukrainian democracy, independence and self-reliance?“
