Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that at least 31 people, including five children, were killed in yesterday's Russian missile strike on Kiev. “The youngest victim was just two years old“, the head of state wrote in a statement quoted by the BBC, reports News.bg.
According to the latest data, 159 people were injured, 16 of whom were children. The strike is one of the deadliest in recent months and came at a time when the Ukrainian capital is preparing for key diplomatic events.
Zelensky stressed that the attack is yet another proof of the need for additional international pressure on Russia. He said the sanctions were working, despite the Kremlin's claims, and should be expanded. "They should hit everything that allows Russia to continue such attacks," he wrote.
