Armed clashes between the troops of the transitional government of Syria and parts of the Kurdish coalition “Syrian Democratic Forces“ (SDF) have broken out in the northern part of Aleppo province, the country's Defense Ministry reported.
According to him, army forces repelled an attempt by Kurdish formations to penetrate the Al-Qaya area near the city of Manbij. SDF fighters fired rockets at one of the houses, injuring four soldiers and three civilians.
“Our units carried out pinpoint strikes on the sources of fire, destroying a rocket launcher and artillery pieces“, the statement said.
In turn, as reported by the Sham TV channel, the SDF command accused “undisciplined groups operating within the ranks of government troops“ of attacking their positions. The statement claimed that the Kurds were carrying out military retaliation in response to provocations along the line of contact in the Deir Hafer area.
The last time that gunfire between the parties in the northern part of Aleppo was recorded was on July 11.
