A 6.7-magnitude earthquake shook the Russian Kuril Islands today, the German Center for Geological Sciences reported, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
Initially, the German center reported a magnitude of 6.35 and a depth of the earthquake of 10 km.
The US Geological Survey said the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.
The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations said that after the earthquake, tsunami waves are possible in three regions of the Kamchatka Peninsula.
