The Second Western District Military Court will begin consideration of the criminal case against 19 perpetrators and accomplices in the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, which killed 149 people. The trial will be held in one of the buildings of the Moscow City Court.
The hearing on Monday will begin in open mode. The trial itself is expected to be held behind closed doors for the media and the public due to the presence of classified information in the case materials, as well as data whose disclosure could hinder the investigation of the defendants who are wanted. The court will take unprecedented measures to security.
Lawyer Lyudmila Aivar, whose team represents the interests of 115 victims in the case, told TASS that the military court refused to terminate the criminal prosecution of four defendants, as well as to consider the case with the participation of a jury. In addition, the court rejected the request of some of the defendants to return the case materials for additional investigation. Earlier, lawyer Igor Trunov, whose team also represents the interests of 115 victims in the case, noted that the defense will demand the most severe but fair sentence for the defendants.
The defendants in the case are 19 people - the direct perpetrators of the terrorist attack and their accomplices: Shamsiddin Fariduni, Dalerjon Mirzoev, Mukhamadsobir Faizov, Saidakram Murodali Rachabalizoda, Umedjon Soliev, Mustakim Soliev, Shahromjon Gadoev, Zubaydulo Ismoilov, Husein Hamidov, Muhammad Zoir Sharipzoda, Yakubjon Davlatkhon Yusufzoda, Nazrimad Lutfuloy, Jumahon Kurbonov, Husein Medov, Dzhabrail Aushev, Alisher Kasimov, as well as Isroil, Dilovar and Aminchon Islomov.
As the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia reported to TASS, according to the investigation, two wanted citizens of Tajikistan and unidentified persons acting in the interests of the top political leadership of Ukraine organized the activities of three cells of the group "Vilayat Khorasan", which is part of the international terrorist organization "Islamic State" on the territory of the Russian Federation. The citizens of Tajikistan Mirzoev, Fariduni, Rachabalizoda, Fayzov, Soliev, Ismoilov, Gadoev, Hamidov, Lutfuloy, Kurbonov, Yusufzoda, Sharipzoda, appealing to their religious feelings, who were given instructions to commit a terrorist act in Moscow, the Prosecutor General's Office noted.
The accomplices in the crime, Islomov and Kasimov, transferred money to the terrorists, provided an apartment and a car. Medov, Aushev and other persons manufactured and transferred weapons and ammunition. Solievi, Ismoilov, Gadoev, Khamidov transported weapons and ammunition to the direct perpetrators of the terrorist act. Lutfuloy, Kurbonov, Yusufzoda and Sharipzoda provided funds to their accomplices.
On March 22, 2024, Rachabalizoda, Fayzov, Mirzoev and Fariduni committed a terrorist act in the Crocus City Hall, firing firearms at visitors and setting the hall on fire. As a result, 149 people were killed, one is missing. The damage caused is estimated at around 6 billion rubles. After the terrorist act, four of the perpetrators tried to flee to Ukraine, but were detained in the Bryansk region and taken to Moscow.
The investigation against the two organizers and four members of the terrorist organization is ongoing.
