US Vice President J.D. Vance said that his country does not intend to recognize a Palestinian state - an issue he discussed with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy at their meeting today, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"We have no plans to recognize a Palestinian state. "I don't know what it really means to recognize a Palestinian state, given the lack of a functioning government there," Vance told reporters.
He added that US President Donald Trump "has been very clear about his goals, about what he wants to achieve in the Middle East, and he will continue to be so."
Vance, who is on a private visit to Britain, met with Lamy at the start of his visit to the country at the Chevening House residence in southern England.
