US President Donald Trump has nominated State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce as Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
“I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Tammy Bruce, a prominent patriot, television personality and best-selling author, to be the next Deputy Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, with the rank of ambassador“, he wrote on Truth Social.
Bruce has been the State Department spokesperson since January.
In May, Trump nominated his former national security adviser Mike Walz as permanent representative to the United Nations.
Fox News reported that Walz's removal was related to the scandalous Signal incident Messenger, when The Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg was accidentally invited to a meeting with senior US administration officials.
In late July, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee recommended Walz's nomination for the position of permanent representative to the UN.
