American President Donald Trump said he expects a constructive conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during their meeting regarding the war in Ukraine, scheduled for Friday in Alaska, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
The American president added that his meeting with the Russian head of state in Alaska will be "exploratory", Reuters writes.
"I will talk to Vladimir Putin and tell him: You have to end this war. You have to end it," Trump told reporters. He noted that there could be a future meeting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would attend.
Trump added that he was "upset" by his Ukrainian counterpart Zelensky's refusal to cede territory to Russia as part of an agreement that would end the conflict.
