Britain, France and Germany, which co-chair the “Coalition of the Willing“, presented their position on the path to ending the war in Ukraine in a statement issued after virtual talks with US President Donald Trump today, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
“Ukraine must have clear and reliable security guarantees to effectively defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity“, the text released by Britain emphasizes two days before the planned summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
The statement specifies that the “Coalition of the Willing“ is ready to plays an active role, including by deploying re-enforcement forces after the cessation of hostilities.
“No restrictions should be imposed on Ukraine's armed forces or on its cooperation with third countries. Russia cannot have a veto over Ukraine's path to the EU and NATO,“ the authors of the document added.
