US First Lady Melania Trump has demanded that Hunter Biden retract his statements linking her to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and threatened to sue if he does not. The Associated Press reported this, BTA reports.
These are two comments made by the son of former President Joe Biden in an interview this month with British journalist Andrew Callahan. Hunter Biden claims that Epstein introduced Melania to current President Donald Trump.
In a letter to Biden, the first lady’s lawyer, Alejandro Brito, described the allegations as false, defamatory and “extremely indecent.” According to him, the comments have been widely circulated in social networks and media around the world, causing Melania Trump “tremendous financial and reputational damage“.
Hunter Biden made the statement about Epstein in the context of a broader criticism of “elites“ and representatives of the Democratic Party, whom he claims undermined his father's positions before he refused to participate in the presidential campaign last year.
“Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. The connections are, it seems, so broad and deep“, Biden said, attributing the claim to the writer Michael Wolff. Melania Trump had already belittled Wolff in June, calling him a “third-rate reporter“, and accused him of making up stories to sell books.
