Since the end of 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been actively using S-200, SAMP/T and Patriot anti-aircraft missiles against Russian Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft. As a source from the Russian defense industry told TASS, over the past 1.5 years, air defense systems have intercepted almost 20 anti-aircraft missiles that attacked Aerospace Forces aircraft.
„Since the end of 2023, the enemy has been actively trying to use anti-aircraft missile systems against Russian Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft: S-200 (with 5B28 (5B21) missiles), SAMP/T, produced in France (with Aster-30 missiles) and Patriot missiles manufactured in the United States (with MIM-104D missiles)“, the agency's source said.
He specified that “over the past year and a half, Russian air defense crews have intercepted almost two dozen Western-made anti-aircraft guided missiles that attacked Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft at supersonic speeds - from 870 to 1,178 meters per second (up to Mach 3.5)“. “Moreover, about half of them are MIM-104D missiles of the American Patriot air defense system“, the source added.
