In his speech on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Korean Peninsula, Chairman of the State Council of the DPRK Kim Jong-un said that the People's Republic, together with the Russian Federation, opposes neo-Nazism. His words were quoted by the Korean Central News Agency.
“Today, Russian-Korean friendly relations are turning into an unprecedented military alliance, these relations are further strengthened in the joint struggle to protect international justice, security and sovereignty, in the joint struggle against the revival of neo-Nazism“, said Kim Jong-un. Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier praised the participation of the Korean People's Army in the liberation of the Kursk region.
“Our countries have always been on the right side of history, and now we are resisting hegemony and making demands on behalf of humanity striving for justice“, added Kim Jong-un. “The DPRK and Russia are now making history in the name of justice, being in one trench in the struggle for international peace and stability, for the dignity and sovereignty of the country“, concluded the country's leader.
On August 15, the DPRK marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Korean Peninsula from Japanese colonial rule. A delegation led by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin arrived in Pyongyang to mark the holiday. He called the holiday common to the Russian Federation and the DPRK, since 80 years ago the Red Army and the Koreans together achieved the liberation of the peninsula.
The Chairman of the “United Russia“ Party Dmitry Medvedev sent congratulations to the Chairman of the State Council of the DPRK Kim Jong-un on the anniversary.

He pointed to the participation of the Korean People's Army in the liberation of the Kursk region as an example of the “strength of fraternal ties“.
