A man in his 20s was killed and another man of a similar age was seriously injured in a shooting near a mosque in the Swedish city of Orebro, about 200 km from Stockholm, DPA reported, quoted by BTA, citing a police statement.
The two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries, but one of them died. The second injured person is not in life-threatening condition.
It is not yet known whether there was one attacker. The operation to capture him is ongoing, police said.
At the moment, it is believed that the shooting was linked to a criminal network, and the incident is being investigated as murder and attempted murder.
According to Swedish media, the attack took place during Friday prayers at the mosque, with several shots fired outside the temple.
Sweden has been struggling with gang-related crimes for years. Conflicts between different criminal groups often end in deaths and injuries, DPA notes.
