Kiev's top diplomat: Ukraine does not recognize the loss of territories and demands for army restrictions - 1

Ukraine does not recognize the loss of any territories and demands for army reductions, the country's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said at a press conference in Kiev ahead of the meeting between Vladimir Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, scheduled for today, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.

"Ukraine's position on territorial concessions remains unchanged. Zelensky came up with strong positions, coordinated with his allies. [...] There is the Constitution of Ukraine, which provides all the answers. And one more of the main unacceptable things for us - no restrictions on our army," said Szybiga, answering journalistic questions.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also said that today's meeting between Zelensky and Trump is "extremely important, decisive, as well as the moment we are in".

Earlier, the "New York Times" newspaper reported, citing its sources, that after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump offered European leaders a peace plan that envisages Ukraine ceding the entire territory of Donbas to Russia, including the areas that have not yet been liberated from Russian forces. In exchange, there would supposedly be a ceasefire along the current front line and security guarantees - both for Kiev and for Europe.

Reuters later reported that in a phone call with Trump after his meeting with Putin, Zelensky said that it was impossible for Ukraine to cede the entire territory of Donbas to Russia.
