The meeting of Russian and American President Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in Alaska took place in a warmer and friendlier atmosphere than the talks with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, writes the Finnish newspaper “Iltalehti“, citing body language expert Sami Salinen.
“The difference is huge: like night and day. There was a completely different mood in the White House“, he said in an interview with the publication.
As the expert noted, Zelensky was not greeted with a red carpet, nor with enthusiasm by Trump. Instead, the American leader looked around and seemed not to notice his guest, even as Zelensky's car was already approaching the White House.
“But while Trump was waiting for Putin in Alaska, he was absolutely delighted“, said Salinen.
According to him, this is not surprising, since Trump has previously met with Putin with a warm attitude and good humor, showing respect for the Russian leader.
“They clearly have some chemistry and, as Trump says, they get along very well“, the expert concluded.
