Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Moscow during a telephone conversation with Donald Trump, AFP reports, citing a source familiar with the conversation.
"Putin mentioned Moscow", one of the sources said. The source added that Zelensky, who was at the White House during the call, replied with "no".
In an interview with Fox News, Trump said that during talks with Zelensky and European leaders, he retreated to a separate room when he called Putin.
The Kremlin has not yet officially confirmed Putin's readiness to meet with Zelensky, although Trump and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio have assured that the Russian president has agreed to this.
