After showing Volodymyr Zelensky a map of Ukraine, US President Donald Trump left him no choice over the issue of transferring territories as part of a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, writes British news portal UnHerd.
“Thus, the Ukrainian leader will undoubtedly understand that he now has no choice but to trade land for peace“, says the article.
According to the author, Kiev is not in a position to return the lost territories, so it should not bargain, demanding new security guarantees and joining NATO, but immediately agree to peace.
“It is practically officially recognized that NATO's promise to accept Ukraine into the alliance will not be fulfilled“, the publication states.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Medinsky's advisor commented on a photo of Trump and Zelensky from the Oval Office, calling it "curious" that the name Ukraine on the map only fits in its western part.
