Oil imports into the European Union in June 2025 fell by around 10% on an annual basis, to the lowest monthly volume in history, RIA Novosti reported, after receiving data from Eurostat.

So, physical oil supplies to the EC from countries outside the bloc for June amounted to about 236 million barrels. This is almost 11% less than the previous month and 9% less than June last year. Meanwhile, these monthly volumes were the lowest for the entire reporting period.

In monetary terms, oil imports into the EC for June totaled 15.3 billion euros, down 8% month-on-month and 27% year-on-year, to a four-year low.

Outside the EC, the largest oil volumes in June The buyers were: Germany (32.2 million barrels), Italy (29.4 million), Spain (28.2 million), France (25.5 million) and Poland (13 million barrels).

This means that almost 14% of the total EC imports for the month came from the country with the largest economy in Europe, while the five largest importing countries accounted for 60% of the total EC imports for the month. period.

Accordingly, we read the year before, i.e. For June 2025, compared to the same month last year, the largest increase in oil imports was recorded by: Ireland, which increased imports the most in one year - from almost zero to 1.8 million barrels, as well as Slovakia - 3.3 times increased, to 3.1 million.

Increased by the volume of oil imports in June on an annual basis and by: Czech Republic - 2.2 times, up to 4.8 million; ΠPortugal - 1.6 times, up to 6.2 million; Italy - up 18%, to 29.4 million barrels.

In total, in the first half of this year, the EC imported 1.5 billion barrels of oil, which is 7% less than in the same period a year earlier.

We will recall that according to data released in May by Esonovis, the largest volumes of oil supplies to the EC in 2024 (in barrels per day) will be ocypned by:

- COST - 1.40 million barrels per day (15.4%);

- Hungary - 1.10 million baht (12.1%);

- Kazakhstan - 1.05 million barrels (11.5%).
